If you hold a driver’s license from any country outside the 8 member states of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union, you are required to obtain a local temporary driver’s permit for Saint Kitts & Nevis. It is mandatory to acquire an E-Temporary License in advance using the following link: https://eservices.police.kn/ELicense/ If this is not completed before arrival, you will need to visit the Traffic Department to obtain one, which usually takes about 30 minutes.
Original driving licence + International Driving Permit (IDP)
Please note that an International Driving Permit (IDP) is only a translation. You must present your original driving licence together with the original IDP at the counter — photocopies or scanned copies are not accepted.
